On Saturday evening last Arva had local rivals and near neighbours Cornafean as visitors to Michael Cully Park for a game in the John Brady Insurances Division 3 League and after a tough encounter the sides were level at the finish on 9 points each.

Arva spurned a number of easy chances early on with at least 6 wide's from scoreable positions which made the difference in the end. Too be fair the visitors hit the upright on 2 occasions in the second half so a draw was probably a fair result in the end. Cornafean opened up a 3 point lead by the 8th minute with 2 points from frees and one from play. Arva replied with points from Peter Morris (Free) in the 13th minute and a fine effort by Gavin Doyle from out near the sideline a minute later.
